What is the difference between ecstasy and MDMA ?

15 years ago we took ecstasy, pills, I had a strong feeling of empathy, but also a lot of energy to dance. Our parties sometimes lasted several days. It was really a great time.
And then one day, suddenly no more ecstasy, (it was in the years 2007-2010).
I go to see my friend and dealer and he tells me: we can't find ecstasy anymore, now it's MDMA, you'll see it's pretty much the same.
Ok, so I take a capsule, and I start to feel soft, really soft, then I want to sleep, I fall asleep on a chair and wake up at the end of the party sweating !
I had missed the whole party…
I tried MDMA several times, but always the same, whatever the dosage, I feel soft and I can see that the people around me are no longer jumping on the dance floor but are also soft and slumped, half asleep…
So I deduce that there was MDMA, but also something else in the XTC. Speed maybe, but I tried the Speed / MDMA combination and it didn't give much.

So what was this miraculous recipe?

Ecstasy contains MDMA for euphoria and meth/amph for stimulation. Pure MDMA gives a mild enveloping high effect, sometimes even with drowsiness

METH certainly because we wanted everything but certainly not to sleep. Haha.
(I don't know meth but I imagine that the effect must be in this kind)
Some even had a slightly hallucinogenic effect, for party it was great.
For me these xtc (from the years 1990-2005) were a cocktail of different substances on a base of MDMA of course.

Them blue mitzy speckley Dots from the 90’s to 2000 had meth/amph in them I got one tested best pill about untill the brown speckley dots come out which were even stronger. now it’s just mdma mixed with mda

It was so strong that some people were going to vomit instantly.

Yeah, I been saying this for some time. I haven't had a good pill in 20 years. I damn near gave up trying. Every tablet I have tried has been shit since about 2006 or before. About an hour after eating a tablet and BOOM your whole body goes warm and fuzzy with tingley magical goodness. MDMA is very stimulating on its own, I'm not an expert but the isomer plays a role whether its more psychedelic or stimulating R vs S (D/L or +/-)
Then of course, you've got different additives and adulterants. Most people would immediately jump to FENTANYL nowadays if you fell asleep on ecstasy.

MDMA is just the name of the chemical. Ecstasy is the street name for the particular form of the drug - usually pressed tablets, hence xtc or e-pills. After the good e-pills disappeared, thats when everyone started saying "molly", around the time the RC analogs got popular in the US 2010+ such as spice and bath salts. Now, this is where you get lost in semantics. I've been given or sold damn near any and every concoction of stimulants and had it designated as "molly" - which was supposed to be pure mdma. Most of the time it was clearly a cathinone, sometimes it was actually an MD compound, but almost always, it was hardly better than a redbull drink. There isn't much that can compare to the real experience after you've had it, there is hadly a substitute that even comes close.
