Try with sulfuric acid and you will see. The one with sulfuric acid if little burnt you can directly lye out of a mercury reaction without extraction.

dissolve in warm water, add slowly sulfuric acid.

temp will get itself, duration is 15M or so max.

I tried this quite some time ago. The funny thing is some powders give me 60-70% with phoshoric and 40-50 with sulfuric acid, while others give me 60-70 with sulfuric and 40-50 with phosphoric.
