The Bulgarian Customs inspected the truck, with Turkish registration, crossing Europe from West to East, at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing / The money was hidden in lockers in the vehicle cabin

Customs agents at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint in Bulgaria prevented the attempt to transport 124,650 undeclared euros during the inspection of a truck leaving the country heading east. The most recent similar case had occurred in August, although in that case it was on the Danube Bridge.
The intervention took place on December 30, when a truck with a Turkish license plate arrived at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint. The driver, a Turkish citizen, presented the documents corresponding to the goods transported from the Netherlands via Bulgaria to Turkey. The vehicle was selected using the risk analysis method.
During the control operations, packages containing euro banknotes of denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 euros were found in the lockers located under and above the driver's cab bed. The total amount of the undeclared coin found is 124,650 euros. The individual did not clarify the origin of the money: he was laundering for organized crime.
