Hello everyone;)

I bought some weed a week ago, and it had a few seeds in it. I knew the very basic of growing, so I decided to give germinating a try lol. I was kinda surprised that it sprouted a little white root!

Feeling optimistic, I planted it, and now its actually growing
I didn't really expect much at first, but now that it is going, I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to give it the best chance. I've read bits and pieces online, but I'd love to hear from you guys directly. What should I focus on to help it thrive: lighting, soil, watering schedules, nutrients, or anything else I mightn't have thought about?

im using just basic equipment now but open to invest a bit (~20€) if its worth it. Any beginner-friendly advice would mean a lot!

Yes, you have to dry it, at which point it's smokable, and curing it, which can take a few more weeks, but that gives it flavors and gets rid of the green/leafy taste, which is chlorophyll and maybe fertilizer....

Before harvest, 3+ days before harvest, if possible, leaf the plants right there, and put the leaves right there on the soil. There is a little shock when you leaf them (or, de-leaf, really...) and giving them 3-4 daze or more allows the shock to pass and they are feeling super amazing and happy when you pull them, which means happier weed.

The best way to dry cannnbis is to hang it upside down. The bigger pieces you hang up, the longer it takes to dry, which is a good thing, in this situation...leave the leaves on, in the begining, unless you have insect or a biological issue (fungal or bacterial). If you have more than one plant, put space in between them, since you want air flow.
If you find Botrytis (bud rot), clip several inches below the infected site, (4"-8"), even if you are clipping away what looks like pretty flower. It's not, even though you can't see it.
Use a fan and keep air moving.
After a few daze the fan leaves will dry out so remove them all...when you get better and trust yourself more, you can lead the leaves on there, dry perfectly, leave the leaves on there, and put them in a tote, and burp it, so that in 4 months, you want some weed, you can pull it out and trim it and seems like it is fresh, even though it's 4 months old. If you sell weed, that is how you A) don't have to hire trimmers to trim it all at the begining after harvest, and B) have amazing fresh outdoor weed, in February.
Anyways...
Reorganize your branches/plants because leaf removal and drying shrunk the size of the crop..pick any buds from the ground and put them in a separate pile called "ground weed", you can extract that later. Maybe put the branches back on the wires in a different order...
When the stems snap, IE the bigger stems, then they are ready. This should take 2-3 weeks, at 20-22c and 60% humidity depending on the size of the branches.

btw. few things from my experience which often are forgotten when growing but have (in my opinion!) huge impact:

- pH of soil !
- quality of water ! (in UK especially!)
- good air circulation
- boosting CO2 levels

Correct pH = better absorption of nutrients + keeping good microbes on roots
In some point i saw as well huge improvements on health of plants when use only pro filtered water, mean double reverse osmosis filters.
Air circulation = strong roots

And bit of magic if You want have more holly broccoli from Yours crops --->> Asahi SL + Bloombastick + Psycho Myco

Hey @nord1337 I am sorry buddy I have been busy with so much. If you are able to get more seeds start as many as you can !
I'm not going to waste my time talking about nutrients and shit. There's a whole interweb with that shit blowing back and forth with plenty of time to study it I used to pay attention to the moon cycles for fuck sake, how "in touch" I was with my plants ;]
If you want super high quality above all. like in @amieri pictures (Godlike nugs! Big up!) you wanna pick your genetics and go indoors. And love em like nobody else can. That is gonna be expensive-r than the other options.

With outdoor, planting them in the ground, they get massive! Even with a short season, you can make 5 LB plants if you plan ahead. You will wanna wait to regenerate one of your potted females and do this. You will get alot ALOT more quantity and potency will depend more on the care and the ware. You can only do so much: in other words, the wind will blow, the rain will pour. And yet, Our poor girls, they must endure. and grow healthy and remain pure. A quick limerick from a poet who didn't know it.

My first year growing, what I did was plant them in pots and I put them outside and chased the sun around all day and brought them back in at night. I would recommend starting here because it will force you to pay time to your plant and you will learn how to communicate with them. Plus it is cheapest, best, and ready! While this is going on you can start doing more research about nutrients and environment and techniques and so forth too. Just get your sprout in a generous pot and go for high nitrogen in veg phase, but not TOO high. I wouldn't bother using food it to be fair, it is unnecessary. Mulch it with some fresh cut grass, this will keep it from drying out AND give it the right nutes, If you only got 1 plant and you ain't training it, you're already done for the season :D

This is where the next season will be wonderful for you hopefully, after you get your feet wet and get an idea of what you gotta do and how it all works. If you can clone your females, and regenerate them. Get some good genetic seeds from someone and splice those in with yours. Let the biggest healthiest male survive and whack it against a few of your females you wanna get seeds from. Not the most scientific and precise. but it works for me. What I mean is, you rip off the pollen sacks from the males when they are ready (your only one male that you watched like the suspicious little angry virgin that he is) You can literally pick which nugs (not nugs but "Hair clusters" (I forget the name, the PISTIL! the buds as they're early on) you want to have seeds and you can touch them a bit with the pollen sack. If you want a shitload of seeds, just leave a male or two standing. I wouldn't recommend this though - your whole harvest will turn into seed if you let it. Even if you do want alot, do it manually how I described otherwise, ugh... you will have so much seeds and no nug - yes, even with one little male, the wind and bugs will spread it to every last nug.

Lemme know how it is going man. This is kind of like a refresher course for me also. I fucking BOMBED trying to do my indoor grow,. Something is wrong, I gotta figure it out. I had to start 4 rounds of sprouts I think. Embarassing. I will take a pic of mine and show you were I am at now. I am going to be topping some of them, so 2 main stems, then top those again, now 4. We can let those grow for a while, Each set of nodes gives us 8 more 'main stems' the "cola" bud is what we are after. This is the main top cone shaped nug. "The prize" We aim for nothing but colas. So this is how we get ridiculous yields from one plant. After you get that figured out, it is just about the quality. So like I said, Indoor is the best hands down. Next best thing, bring them in at night, during bad weather etc. If you have ones in the ground, you can make a little tent to put over them. These little things can make or destroy the whole season, so you GOTTA stay on it. A couple days in the rain and wind and all your sparkley nugs turned dull. All the THC is infused. The trichomes done blew away :[

The best habit for a gardener is consistency, habit. You know, routine. This is why I gotta try to figure out the moon shit again.
Like with hi tide low tide, there were optimal times to feed or water. Or trim and so on. Maybe something to it, maybe not. They will grow regardless.

I just kinda did what I always yell at everyone else about for doing it, which is over complicating things for the new guys coming to learn. My approach is to try to give you just what you need to get going. When we get going we'll prepare and worry about it as it comes. Like I said, growing just 1 seed, just to see it grow, you already done for the year. Get some more seeds quick or else we gotta train that thing ! :D
