I had an event. Nothing happened/ what happened is I deleted my keyset from a device that was disgarded. I still have the name of the key given by open pgp when I published it. I have the 8 sets of 5 alphanumeric recovery key,I still have access to the mail it was set up to. What I cant figure out is how to retrieve the actual hashes. ------:begin pgp public key--------
Yesterday, I punched the email address associated with it into keypassxc, and it said "key aquired" but I cant find a key anywhere on there. How do I retrieve my own key" The reason is, i had it (made) in openkey, but im on a laptop and would have to add an android emulator to run it
If you can get me this key back, The first person whos intructions lead to me retrieving this key I'll give you $5 in btc. I'll write a n escrow ticket that says whatever, and you just click accept and youll have $5

What follows after "------:begin pgp public key--------" are not any hashes, that is the actual key. What do you mean by "8 sets of 5 alphanumeric recovery key"? Where did you get that output? Did you use any online services to generate or store the key?

Keypass may have fetched just the public key from a public key registry, but it won't give you your private key back. At this point the best bet is to check any manual and automatic backups like Time machine and others, or sync that could have synced your private key to some online storage where it could be recovered from (e.g. iCloud, One Drive etc)

If everything fails then you'll need to generate a new key and start treating it properly. Put it in your password manager (surely you use one). Buy a pair of USB thumb drives and store a copy of your private key on each. Keep one copy away from your place of residence so it survives any burglary or disaster such as fire.

The keyset was made by open keychain. That app produced the "recovery key that is 8 sets of 5 letters. You have to click on a box that says you have copied it before you can leave the page. It says without it you wont be able to recovoer your key.. I guess I need to just download bluestax or something ( an android emulator)and install open keychain running in an emulator, then recover my key and export it from open keychain

Then fire up an android, BlueStacks should work fine, recover and export your key to a safe place. Sounds like you're in luck today.
