I am trying the shakenbake method. In my previous attempts, I had no difficulty in producing bronze with lithiums and it was formed in a short time, this time I just put 100 ml of ether more than 1 hour, but bronze did not form why? I didn't compress the lithium, could it be because of that?

You are going to be to tell us you did exactly. To start you diluted it so it probably needs heated to fire the reaction

Please detail what steps you took. We can better help that way. The lithium looks like it's black as if it was out in the atmosphere too long before used. Are you storing the lithium from the AA in some solvent before use. Paraffin oil is good for this.

What do you mean compress Li?

I added 90g ammonium sulfate 60g sodium hydroxide 400ml ether to the bottle like i always do and 400ml eter I put the lithium in an airtight container on the contrary.Even if I didn't keep it in the solvent, it wasn't a problem, it was producing bronze. As a result of the process, the liquid coming out of the bottle is normally slippery, this time it did not happen.

You might need to get some heat on to the bottle to start the reaction. You need pressure to keep the ammonia gas up. Try to substitute ammonia sulfate with nitrate. Small hair dryer will do the job. Record a video of the process and share here.

I didn't know you could use sulfate instead of nitrate, so I looked that up. It does take more energy to fire the sulfate reaction.

I would go up to 180g with sulfate. You are right it takes more.

I'm afraid to use ammonium nitrate because of the risk of explosion.Ammonia is produced successfully with ammonium sulfate, I think, after 120 minutes, the gas that comes out burns hands and eyes. After the bronzes are formed, I add 60g of sulfate together with ephedrine, how should I filter it? Thank you guys
