So I'm extracting the Suzy from Sudafed and have tried the same tek twice and a different one twice. The first one, full turps cure, yielded nothing nor did I get anything on my second try at it so I decided to try the waterless a/b tek. On the first run, out of a possible 11.52 grams of Suzy I got a single gram back lol. The second time I didn't get anything back. Until the end I followed the instructions to the T but when it came time for the solvent extraction I used TCE and odorless mineral spirits. I stirred constantly for 15 minutes per pull yet got nothing. I don't have Xylene like the tek says to use so that could be why. I still have the pill mass so I can try again when my Xylene comes in. I'm also getting more Sudafed in soon so should I try another extension method or give the waterless a/b a third chance but using the proper extraction solvent.
Yellow bottles of HEET. This is mostly methanol (and some hexane?) Bake epsom salts Mg2SO4 at 400F for 2 hours and put a few grams in with your HEET and shake it alot.
Filter the HEET really well. Now you can use this solvent to extract your suzy. Break up your pills, soak it in your HEET, extract 2/3 times, combine and evaporate. If you can handle that it should be good enough to reduce. Otherwise you need alot more reading and practice. Try to make sure suzy is the only active ingredient in your pills. The 24hours or the 12 hours are good. The reds are good if you dissolve the color off first with some acetone. If you don't have HEET, you can use isopropyl alcohol - use the same drying procedure with epsom salts on %99 IPA if you can find it.
