Under the topic of purify acetone is always brought up.
For all of our interest we'd need (if not exist) a lab analysis from before and after acetone treatment to amphetamine or cocaine salt. Since it's repeatidly meantioned but never with evidence.
The common idea is that:
You have lets say 50% Pure Cocaine-hcl or Amphetamine-sulfate.
Let it bathe in a beaker with aceton , making a layer on the bottom.
Pour this mixture into a coffeefilter,
where the white mass that get collected is now 90%+ hyper pure powder, just by this simple trick!
The evidence is weight before vs weight after.
If it went from one gram to 0.7 you had 70% but now 97.9%
Here's the issue. Every powder that I've personally come across by someone using this method has been severely weakened by the treatment. Only the maker of it has convinced thyself it's better because the idea of it is so ingrained.
My question is, do we have a source that proves the workings of said method? I suggest the lost weight is the substance itself as well, please chime in if I'm missing something.
Also the acetone in the theory is anhydrous to the extent it says so on the bottle.
