Question Precursors to precursors *mephredrone*?

Hello everyone, i was reading this post

is any tutorial or ideas on how making the precursors of the precursors of mephredrone?

2-bromo-4-methylpropiophenone (BK4)
n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)
Methyl amine 40% aq.soln

im planning of use 1/10 or maybe 0.5/10 of all the reagents to test this recipe to test it.

any advice? thank you.

Do you have any experience with syntheses? You can get 4-methylpropiophenone and methylamine yourself, but mostly buy it.
NMP is replaced by Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) it is quite available or other solvents are used: gasoline, toluene, ethyl acetate, etc..

"you can get 4-methylpropiophenone and methylamine yourself, but mostly buy it." Very helpful post, I thought methylamine is a pretty watched precursor, you can just buy it? Do you mean specifically in small amounts?

Making methylamine is crazy easy. You won't find a video of it on youtube by searching "methylamine", but they're there. Here's the choireboy NileRed doing trimethylamine, which is basically the same process. He even gives the instruction on how to produce methylamine in the video:
