I tried synthesizing P2P from P2NP using tin chloride dihydrate. Got organish yellow oil after quenching with water. When dcm was added it formed a turbid pale yellow mixture of dcm and p2p. I added methylamine to the mixture and then added aluminum and hcl to reduce it to methamphetamine free base, then passed hcl gas into it. I didn't form mercury amalgam as it is used to prevent forming of oxidative layer over the aluminum, I did the reduction with aluminum and hcl. The reaction was messed up from the step where I added dcm.
