Thanks yes I saw that. I also found a supplier in spain for p2np for around 215€ per kilo. Even if I synthesis it myself at that price it's cheaper to just buy it pre-made

Caustic soda is NaOH.
Yes, or pool PH - is 30% ish sulphuric acid.Phosphoric is an alternative
NaOH has pretty low solubility in IPA, around 200-300 g/L I think and it also really likes to be in the aq. layer so it essentially takes the place of the IPA pushing it upward in the process.
I would use borosylicate especially for an exothermic reaction.No to mention it's good to start small when learning a procedure.
This i don't know but what is for certain is that 1 mol of freebase will pair with 2 moles of sulphuric acid.If the author took this into consideration it means he should have about 1800g of sulphate and oil around 600.
IPA is added to dissolve the remaining freebase into it and like it says in the procedure to extract.While freebase is almost completely insoluble in water it still can get binded in the aq layer by means of physical processes (emulsion).

If you're dead set on using an improvisation I would recommend HDPE/HDPP barrel.

It can be ordered for 128€/Kg which makes it okay to work with.

On scale, the price of it can be reduced to 95€ with polish suppliers (Organic Chemistry Poland).

I am sure there are overseas options that make it even cheaper. With this method the financially important part aswell would be to drastically reduce the cost for CuCL2 and Isopropyl.

215€ per kilo is a okay price, again here Organic Chemistry Poland offers a great price for P2NP with 168€ per Kilo

A liter of nitroethane is 100 euro or less, another 10 for the aldehyde, lets be generous and say another 10 for the amine, 5 for solvents.215 is a bit spicy if you look at it like that, 170 is a bit more reasonable, but neither is cheaper

Yeah it's definitely not cheap and not suitable for an industrial scale.

When increasing the quantities the best offer for P2NP I got was 105€/Kg for a very large quantity.

Haha yes it is but the required quantity for is is also BIG BIG BIG haha, like a ton or so, I'm sure if I'd negotiate a little I'd be able to get it for lower quantites but that's always risky as you don't want to talk down suppliers too much so that they keep liking you after doing business and not load their shitty stuff on you lol
