Question Need experienced advice on a few techniques.

When finishing A-oil what’s the best solvent to use?
1. acetone
2. DCM
3. Petroleum ether
4. D Ether
5 IPA
6 methanol
Do you dilute it 1/1?
Magnetic stirrer or Glass rod?
What’s the best PH?
Goal is to obtain the cleanest, highest purity and nasal friendly amph sulfate for myself. Not for re sell purpose.
Any advice is most appreciated!

Et2O (diethyl ether) of course.
Never use ketones as solvent for amines (they react to form imines)
But for the best purity you should get at first water clear base.
So vacuum distillation is a must with a 2-stage oil pump.
Even better factional vacuum distillation with a short packet column (you may use short condenser with at least glass balls or rings without water flowing as your column).
If you want so that your oil pump do a good job for you for a long time and give sufficient vacuum don't let light fractions come into oil,
so use cold trap or strip volatile fractions with aspirator or membrane vacuum pump first and don't forget to change oil if it's volume increase even a bit.

Make HCl salt better. Dissolve your purified base in Et2O and with overhead stirring (or magnetic if dilution is good enough) add drop by drop freshly prepared 20% solution of HCl gas in anhydrous IPA. (or even in the same Et2O)
In that case you can give excess acid, it will volatilize later after vacuum drying.

P.S. Et2O should be dry and also freshly distilled before neutralization.

One more question.
7. DI water or distilled water… can it just be mixed with water adding acid solution till the water tests ph7. Separate and evaporate water to get your finished product?

Yes, but not desirable because amphetamine HCl salt is very hygroscopic and you should apply really good head with strong vacuum to remove it from salt later.
