synthesizing something I came across the following instruction:

"In a flask at room temperature (20-35 ° C.), 14.1 g (352 mmol) of NaH dispersed in mineral oil (200%) and 200 ml of DMSO were added."

I didn't understand this part:

"NaH dispersed in mineral oil (200%)"

would someone be kind enough to clarify for me?
thanks

The author probably means 2 parts, for ex. 20g sodium hydride dispersed in 1 part mineral oil.

I came across two varieties of NaH from well known brands (wether merck, sigma or else is less rellevant) thei were either 50% NaH in mineral oil (the one I had) or 80% NaH in mineral oil (the one from the Universitiy I was working at) and the reason they make it like this is for safety since it catches fire and explodes quite easily in pure form... it was never the case of having trouble with the mineral oil since we designed the procedures having it's pressence and concentration in mind.
