Question Magnesium Oxide added with other oxides like zinc or calcium

Hello l am having trouble finding any good info about grignard alternative synth reagents im starting with thinking adding other oxides like zinc and calcium in right amounts in some way or connection or anything anyone else knows possibly break it down. I have no experience or knowledge with Br its the only thing I didn’t feel comfortable dealing with it ever “still don’t” I’m kinda interested in sodium bromide but not the gas and I think chlorobenzene is cool.
- I really don’t wanna have one of those oh shit, 0 to 700c out the window and then thinking it convinced you that you just saw and heard the same bang outside and going woah wen u see green burning smoke in the air

I'm not really sure what that all means but if I'm not mistaken the major functional aspect of most grignards is an alkyl or aryl group, magnesium and a halogen ,but bromine particularly isn't a prerequisite. Iodides and chlorides can form grignards as well. So phenyl, tosyl, xylyl, methyl propyl butyl- MAGNESIUM -bronide, iodides, chloride, fluoride, astitide
