Help with methylamine?

Hey guys,
So I made some p2np and reduced some of it to p2p, steam distilled and now I am about to synthesise some methylamine HCl as my supplier is out.
Is there a way to utilise the methylamine HCl in the reduction reaction? (Al/Hg)
If not, does it have to be freebase dissolved in water?
looking at a guide on here, it looked simpler to dissolve the freebase methylamine in methanol and then use that as it would avoid bubbling gas…

What do people do?

Oh yeah, also is it feasible to make the methylamine in situ using nitromethane in the final reduction? Like people do with MDMA…

Okay you can ignore the first question, I found a guide on the rhodium for using the HCl salt.

I do still want to know about the in situ formation of methylamine from nitromethane though….seeing as it’s done in mdma synthesis a lot, why do I not see people doing it for meth-amphetamine?

Where did you find this guide exactly? I've been looking for something similar, and I can't seem to find it.

I think some of them do, I don't know a lot about amphetamines but think some people do
