is there anyway to extract the hallucinogenic alkaloid from nutmeg? like as a freebase or HCl salt (sorry for mistakes i am new to chemistry)

I dont think any of the main 2 active components of nutmeg can form salts, I may be wrong however.Soxhlet extraction to yield the oil then somehow separating the constituents of that oil would be your best bet.You could as alternative buy the essential oil or the compound itself from Sigma or such other.
None of them are alkaloids btw, alkaloids involve nitrogen and I can't see any maybe I'm blind.

steam distillation is the industry standard for lots of material, a soxlrt usually holds a gram or 2 which would yield you...maybe 20 mg. Mascerate and soak in solvent I woulyd say is the next most popular war

Solid-liquid extraction techniques, such as maceration and reflux extraction, as well as ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE), i.e. in the ultrasonic bath, were also reported (Choo et al. 1999; Dhalwal et al. 2007; Dawidowicz and Dybowski 2012). A clear advantage of hydrodistillation and SFE is lack of organic extraction solvents; however, both techniques require considerable large amount of sample and they are rather time-consuming.
