Question can methylamine be substituted for synthesis of any amphetamine?

Im having trouble getting access to things like mercury chloride or methylamine. Originally i wanted to use p2p methylamine and alhg, but im having trouble with getting access to these chemicals. If there are any alternative reducing agents in place of alhg that would be great too.
