Beta-Chloro-Amphetamine from Phenylpropanolamine using HCl acid and Zinc Chloride

I was thinking of synthesizing Beta-Chloro-Amphetamine from Phenylpropanolamine (Beta-Hydroxy-Amphetamine). Like adding Phenylpropanolamine freebase and reacting it with HCl acid and Zinc Chloride Catalyst in reflux for a few hours to get Beta-Chloro-Amphetamine. Then turn it into Beta-Chloro-Amphetamine HCl. Or maybe Thionyl Chloride can turn Phenylpropanolamine into Beta-Chloro-Amphetamine. It would be an analog of Amphetamine.

Interesting, have you considered turning Phenylpropanolamine into 4Mar? There’s a not as toxic synth way of making it.
