Best solvents and acid for 4 Mmc

I did 2 time synthesisise of 4 mmc 100 gram 2b4m in dcm and acidification with HCl i got 15 gram yield both time now i want to try bb gate video tutorial of 4mmc in NMP my question is what is the difference between Hbr and HCl for acidification and what are the benefits of Hbr and NMP solvent
Last time i got 15 gram yield attaching precipitate video

Use ethylacetate for 100g scale, you can throw all your methylamine in one time, 20 minutes stirring. Separate. Etc…

Which solvent is best nmp or DMF OR DCM

Only tried dcm, i think it is not good for 4mmc because of the low boilingpoint.
