Hello, I have three quesitons;
1-) Does every matchbox strike pads contain red phosphorus? If not how can I make sure if one contains it? Any test methods can be used?
2-) I am trying to purify pseudoephedrine from cold/flu tablets. Each contains 30mg pse and 300mg ibuprofen. For non-active ingridients they contains bunch of junk that interfers with purification process. I have followed basic purification steps from the thread "meth from pills". But the resulting material is sticky and I believe interferes with synthesis process. I am currently thinking of dissolving the pills in water, adding NaOH until reaction stops to convert pse to freebase form and concert ibu to its salt form. Wash with toluene, discard water layer and non water disolvable junk. And then bubble anhydrous HCL gas through the toluene in order to change pse to salt form back and percitipate out. Does this will give a good quality pse?
3-) Is it possible to make meth without reflux apparatus? Heating at 80 C for 48-72 hours would work without refluxing and using well sealed cork?
