Hello.
I do everything according to the film.

After separation, I drain the oil from the top layer into a cold beaker, then add 500 ml of frozen acetone and the color starts to change to red and more and more bloody. Ph at this point is around 8.
After gradually adding hydrobromic acid 48%, the elixir begins to change into a dark color, and then, after adding further drops and obtaining a PH between 4-5, the color becomes slightly reddish brown. There is no precipitation reaction of mephedrone salts from the solution at all. The solution is still liquid. what could this be caused by?

Over acidification. When the solution turned clear after being opaque it means you have most likely over acidified, this could also be due to water presence in the freebase, don't forget to dry your freebase with anhydreous MgSO4

And how should I dry it with MgSO4?

Add anhydreous MgSO4 to the freebase after separation. And strain it before acidification. Also don't acidify to a pH less then 5 I think it's gok acidic aim for a 5.5-6.

***Correction: don't acidify to a pH less then 5, I think it's good to aim for a pH of 5.5-6. ***

ok, thank you for the good advice, but tell me, my friend, how much mgSo4 do you add and how do you strain it?

the video mentions pH 4-5 but you can even see that the litmus paper in the video is colored light yellow and as you mention, I think it was around 5-6.

one more question, how long should these layers separate? Do I need to leave them for a few hours to separate them properly?

It doesn't matter how much anhydreous MgSO4 you add but as a rule of thumb you should add some chunks and if they start to stick together and start to stick to the flask then you should add some more. As for the separation of the layers you should wait until you can clearly see the difference between the two this usually is a matter of seconds, minutes at max.
