Cocaine freebase is more soluble in organic solvents like ethanol, acetone, or chloroform.
For Cocaine hydrochloride (the water-soluble salt form), water or a mixture of water and alcohol can be used.
The freebase form of cocaine is non-polar and interacts well with non-polar organic solvents.
The hydrochloride salt form is polar and interacts better with polar solvents like water or water-alcohol mixtures.

Cut the fabric into small pieces (if possible) to increase surface area.
Soak the fabric in the chosen solvent for several hours or use agitation (e.g., stirring or sonication) to enhance the extraction process.

I usually do it in 96% alcohol to avoid the strong chemical smell, but it still smells. Do you recommend any odor masking? And do you recommend doing it in a double boiler once it's dissolved to recover the powder?

I cant recommend anything. I can give you my thoughts. The double boiler seems like the best option, as for the smell, im thinking :
Ventilation , Incense/Candles , Coffee Grounds, Esstential Oils, Odor sprays those kind of things? Vinergar is good as an odor nuetralizer. Baking soda.
Activated Charcoal? .
OR if that fails. Just Stick your head out the window and floor it !
