Question How to get rid of taurine mixed into amphetamine?

Hello, dear BBGate users and experts!

Recently I've faced a problem of having quite a bit of amphetamine mixed with taurine on my hands. I really want to clean it out of it, however swift google research made me desperate as it seems that usual acetone wash wouldn't help.

Maybe here are any experts that could guide me on how to separate and clean my amphetamine, if it's even possible at this point?

Amphetamines can only be purified from other impurities, unfortunately, it is possible to isolate taurine or amphetamine in the mixture only on a chromatographic column, which is extremely difficult to do at home.

Thank you, but let's assume I can get my hands on anything needed for that process (chemicals and equipment) - how do I do that?

I don’t have first hand experience with taurine as a cut but my suggestion would be to dissolve everything in distilled water try 4ml per g to start slowly add more if necessary to completely dissolve. Using HCL acid Drop the PH<3. Mix the water solution with pet ether or dcm and let it separate. Discard the solvent and bring the PH of the water back up to 12. Use diethyl ether to extract the freebase and bring it back with 10-20% solution of sulphuric acid/IPA. Should get ride of it

Acid-base extraction will not help in this case, taurine will be extracted with amphetamine and then precipitated into salt, since taurine also contains an amino group

Thanks for your clarification. I was basing it off of the the solubility of taurine in water vs diethyl ether. I wasn’t aware it would convert to freebase like Amph when NAOH solution was added
