I am not a chemist but i managed to make some amphetamine freebase from P2P but just as i purified the P2P by steam distillation i wanna purify the freebase by steam distillation.
But i have a question with P2P you need to add the impure P2P with a Potassium carbonate solution and then when you collected the distillate you need to add an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (NaCl) (100g NaCl per 500 ml water).
Solution of NaCl is needed to change the water density in the mixture with P2P.
So the P2P becomes the top layer and you can easily discard the H2O layer.
Are there things like this i also need to do with steam distillation of freebase or can i just pour the impure freebase in the flask and start with distillation?
