using AI to tell drug purity?

hey, i saw a post earlier asking whether someones meth looks pure or not, and it gave me an idea. what if an AI was trained to detect bad drugs (meth or otherwise)? is this possible?

using meth as an example, it could be trained to categorize medium, clear shards as good and too big or too small shards as bad. just upload a picture of ur meth and itll check against its database. it would be very generalized (there would be a disclaimer, i dont condone false advertising) but maybe it could help some people out. i know nothing about AI or code but i would learn to create something like this. i just need to know if its feasible ^^;

theoretically it is possible, practically yes as well, it requires very extensive knowledge and experience

it sounds quite enticing and profitable to implement! However unfortunately I only have general knowledge and lack the neccessary expertise to implement this idea. Hopefully u will find your own Zuckerberg or Heisenberg

You'd need advanced equipment that can dispense small amounts of different chemicals on a plate with the substance and measure any reactions, basically a marquis test but with many options for the machine to poke and prod it with and gather information

Even then you'd have to create it so it lets you know if it has insufficient information. And i don't know anything about programming these things but from a logical standpoint and the little i do know about neural networks, you'd need a team of people to make this a reality

damn i wasnt even thinking about physical testing ^^: what i had in mind was just a website where u can upload pics of ur drugs and the AI compares it to other pics and tells u whether ur stuff is shit or not

i dont doubt that id need a team of people, i just wanted to know if its possible so i can start researching. if it was impossible id just leave it alone and not even bother

Oh i see you're thinking like snapshots of the structure with like a microscope analyzing the structure and ai getting input from different shots of the structure

I doubt it'll ever be physically possible to tell meth shard quality with even a camera of the highest quality, you'd need something that can take a picture of it on the molecular scale

So what you want is a device that you can sell people to use and a service that uses it exclusively, like some sort of desktop microscope that feeds to a pc or laptop and then a website or app for it

Could you train AI to grade pictures according to your specifications yes, but you can't tell anything about meth purity by looking at a picture

most likely, but it has a presence now. almost all technology goes obsolete at some point, but if its useful in the moment, why not capitalize on it? ^^;

I believe it is described as intelligent because it is supposed to take initiative at some point on it's own and learn without being programmed further. You can be intelligent with zero knowledge. Likewise, you can have all the knowledge and simultaneously be an idiot. Intelligence is the quality of being able to learn. Knowledge is the learned information itself.

I would put this on the side of not practical or possible without physical testing.
