Question Is it possible to synthesise para-Methoxyamphetamine from Anethole using the same procedures to get MDMA from Safrol?

Good evening!

I would like to know if I can use the same procedures (performic epoxidation and Hg/Al reductive amination) for making MDMA from safrol to make para-methoxyamphetamine from eugenol.

the story, SWIM recieved the wrong sassy extract, ethanol extract instead of oily extract, opened the bottle and now cant get a refund, now SWIM want to test with anethole, which can be obtained with high purity easily (1/3 of the money spent on reagents was wasted on that alcoholic sassy extract.).
According to Rhodium peracid oxidation files, one can use the peracid oxidation for anethole, but now SWIM has a doubt, can one use Hg/Al reductive amination with nitromethane to obtain PMMA?

I would appreciate a lot if someone gave me a light on this.
