Anyone
know what is happening with this or what can be done? it was quite firm to begin with and white, it has been in a bag and now looks like the picture.
If it is bone dry, crush it and mortor/pestle it as fine as you possibly can. Dump some ice cold water on it mix it let it settle , decant the water and evaporate it...is what I have done, faced with similar situations
I guess clandestine chemists aren't what they used to be. Water is the most versatile solvent available and the cheapest. It should be the first solvent you consider.
There are sometimes some bricks that will start to develop yellowish swirls. It will look innocent enough and then bam! The entire brick will turn a purplish earth tone with a very bizarre texture. I saw this back in 2007. Guy was crying since he had 3 kilos that turned that way. He begged me to help him. Working with a sample, I could only recover around 10%. I remember theorizing that it had something to do with manganese contamination and that the oxidization step was poorly done. I walked away because I did not want him to eventually transfer his problems/losses my way. All in all, be careful how you store it. You do not want a bad surprise.
