IPA/GAA solvent, Ethylene diamine catalyst, 1:1.1 aldehyde:nitroalkane ratio, 12hr reaction time @70C over 3A sieves (difficult to separate).

As this fickle aldehyde ain't cheap, I plan to use solely ethanolamine acetate as both solvent and catalyst on the next go, shooting for a yield approaching the 90's

It's glacial acetic acid. IPA is isopropyl alcohol. GAA is not needed.

Reactants:
p-fluoro-benzaldehyde as your aldehyde
Nitroethane as your nitroalkane

Solvent:
IPA

Catalyst:
Ethylamine

There are many other catalysts you could use and this is your main variable for optimizing the reaction. You'll want to use a primary amine in this case and it doesn't need to be ethylamine. I suggest you use 3,5,7-trifluoroadamantan-1-amine because that's what all the super secret underground pros are using trust me.

What about them? you know what isopropyl alcohol and glacial acetic acid are (links 2 &3). Link 1 is EDTA you don't want this for anything and what do you need formaldehyde (link 4) for?

ethylene diamine will not work well, you can find in pharmacy amino acids, see which is available to you, grind the pill or empty capsules until you have good amount, because of filler you will need alot probably.
You then dissolve all this in water and add caustic soda, a layer will form that you extract with a solvent such as toluene or whatever non-polar you have, use sparingly to extract and boom you have a primary amine to play with

Another absolute comedian suggested using amphetamine base, treated same way as above, and I see no reason why it would not work.
