Adding a layer of security for Dead Droppers with a QRCODE, but how?

Prepare your dead drop by following the holy tutorial from @HEISENBERG
Save the coordinates of that dead drop
Next, you'll have to find a website where you can upload text that has a self-burning feature like this website
Create your qr code using an open-source tool like zint [clearnet] and put the previous link inside
Print the qr code with whatever tool you have on hand
Find a spot where you can stick the qr code preferably hidden from crowded places or cameras
Give the coordinates of that qr code to your client or partners

Can be but i think it is not necessary. The best way in my opinion only is to use THE SAME GPS GLONAS etc OPENSOURCE APP by both "dropper" and "taker" for good coordinates. If u add a picture with little describe there is no possibility to dont find package.

Any recommendations for an open-source GPS app that would be good for dead drops?

You can use https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd an open-source app and available offline which makes tracking way more difficult. Remember that a phone can always be traced in some ways.

I saw that app, I'll look deeper into it. I imagine that if someone was making dead drops, they could have a phone for GPS coordinates, and one for business. Ones that you can take the battery out, or put into a Faraday bag.
