Hello, I sincerely appreciate if you could help me and give me some useful suggestions. Recently I followed the synthesis step by step. But after adding the acid into mixture, there's no crystal appearing. I just got mixture divided into two layers. The up layer like a kind of oil does not dissolve in water. The under layer can dissolve in water and psychoactive. What is the problem? What is it wrong? Please help me and I would appreciate it.
Is there solvent in the mixture? I had alot of (small) issues just like that, before I got everything straight!

I have solved the problem. First, if you get some heavy oil in the bottom of beaker, don't throw it out. Separate the oil then add some water in it, make sure you add too much acid. After throw out the oil which can not dissolve in water, add more NaOH to the water and Petroleum ether. You can see the petroleum ether became red. Then extract it and separate the petroleum ether level. Please some proper HCl and acetone mixture.Don't add too much acid or you will get heavy oil again. Add petroleum ether mixture into it eventually. The crystal appearing in the beaker.
