Question Can I crystallise amphetamine

So I was wondering if a HCl crystallisation could be done on amphetamine?

O First: is it even possible

O Second: If it’s possible do I just stick a tube of HCl in amphetamine free base or do I make pure amphetamine and dissolve it in something

O Third: In what can I dissolve amphetamine so that it can be a mixture ready to crystallise

@Bartholomeus reply on this thread says "Dry the paste, when dried sulfate is obtained dissolve it in water, add NaOH solution to get back pure freebase amphetamine. Then dissolve pure freebase in solvents like methanol/IPA/acetone, add acid and voila you should have clean product. Or just dry the paste, again when dried sulfate is obtained add anhydrous cold acetone to it and purify it few times like this"

tbh im not the most well versed in chemistry but i think it depends on how many times u acetone wash it

according 2 the acid/base extraction thread i sent u, pure amph is "white (a barely noticeable cream or gray tint may be present), the smell is completely absent, the taste is bitter. Fine-grained powder, dry, homogeneous, not oily, solubility in water without residue."

Amphetamine Hydrochloride is far superior to sulphate, try it if you have the chance, but obtaining crystals by evaporation is rather hard as its so hygroscopic but when melted and cooled it forms some sort of crystal structure

Hi, as @loadingST said, Amph HCl is extremely hydroscopic and it's almost impossible to get crystals. Moreover, they turn into very wet mass quite fast. I recommend you to read the following research made by BB team expert.
